MUMBAI, India, Feb. 6 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511132517 A) filed by Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 27, 2025, for 'lumointellisense: smart light vantellation and mobile detection sytem.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Vijay Mohan Shrimal; and Deven.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides a smart environmental control system, LumoIntelliSense, that integrates personalized illumination regulation with context-aware mobile-device usage detection. The system measures natural and artificial light using multi-sensor inputs and converts raw lux data into user-specific illumination units to achieve task-oriented lighting through automated multi-layer curtain adjustment and dimmable LEDs. A sensor-fusion mobile detection module combines BLE/Wi-Fi patterns with environmental cues such as proximity, occupancy, and lighting changes to accurately identify active mobile-phone usage while filtering out wearable devices. All processing occurs locally via edge computing to preserve privacy and ensure real-time response. By unifying lighting control and device monitoring within a single platform, the invention enhances comfort, productivity, and digital discipline in classrooms, offices, and residential spaces."
