MUMBAI, India, May 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202341080885 A) filed by Mercedes-Benz Group Ag, Stuttgart, Germany, on Nov. 29, 2023, for 'lubrication oil distribution system of engine of vehicle.'
Inventor(s) include Suraj Parikh; Sandesh Siddappa; Ashish Chauhan; Jitendra Kumar Kalagatoori Archakam; and Spoorthikumar Somanna.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A lubrication oil distribution system (150) coupled to an oil gallery (130) of an engine (100) for supplying a lubrication oil to components of the engine (100). The lubrication oil distribution system (150) comprises a channel (160) defined in a wall of a cylinder block (110) and adapted to allow flow of the lubrication oil to a space (S) between a crankshaft (120) and a bearing (140) of the engine (100). The channel (160) has a first end (162) coupled to the oil gallery (130) and a second end (164) in fluid communication with the space (S). The lubrication oil distribution system (150) further comprises a solenoid valve (170) operably coupled to the channel (160) to selectively allow or restrict supply of the lubrication oil to the space (S) between the crankshaft (120) and the bearing (140) based on an operating condition of the engine (100)."
