Intellectual Property India Publishes Patent Application for 'Lubricant For Use With Chlorine-Containing Refrigerants In Compressor Applications' Filed by The Lubrizol Corporation

MUMBAI, India, Sept. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517081245 A) filed by The Lubrizol Corporation, Wickliffe, U.S.A., on Aug. 27, for 'lubricant for use with chlorine-containing refrigerants in compressor applications.'

Inventor(s) include Rakestraw, Bridgett; Pallister, David, M.; Sumner, Andrew; Miller, Scott; and Adams, Zhana.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 12, under issue no. 37/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A composition comprising a chlorine-containing refrigerant blend and a compressor lubricant comprising: an oil of lubricating viscosity comprising at least one oxygenate; and at least one phosphorous additive. The phosphorous additive may be present at 0.1 to 4 5 wt%, based on a total weight of the compressor lubricant."

The patent application was internationally filed on Feb. 15, 2024, under International application No.PCT/US2024/015902.
