Abstract: ABSTRACT “Low-Complexity Blind Iterative Method and System for Receive-Side Hybrid Beamforming in Communication Network” The present invention provides a system and method for beamforming in a Hybrid Analog-Digital (HAD) beamforming system (100). The method includes receiving a signal from User Equipment (UE) (300) with one antenna at base station (BS) (105) over uplink equipped with uniform linear array (ULA) with N=KM elements. The ULA is divided into M partially-connected side-by-side subarrays. Each subarray forms an analog beam based on received signal measurements, and M analog beam outputs are fed to digital beamformer. A batch of L symbols received over M virtual analog beam ports are collected. An estimate of at least one unknown parameter vector or matrix is initialized and iteratively performed using blind iterative projection method to estimate beamforming weights and symbol estimates. Further, the method includes proving that estimates converge singular vectors or matrices of M x L received signal matrix and derives expressions for signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) gain at each iteration.
