MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641061533 A) filed by Sr University, Warangal, Telangana, on May 14, for 'loco-pilot monitoring safety windscreen device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Tunguturi Srinivas; and Dr. Damarla Ramesh Babu.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A loco-pilot monitoring safety windscreen device, comprising a windscreen frame 101 to mount securely over the train cab ceiling section above the dashboard via a plurality of motorized clamps 102 with integrated electromagnetic locking units 103, an imaging unit 104 to detect loco-pilot presence and integrated with an AI (artificial intelligence) module to perform facial recognition and loco-pilot fatigue conditions using FER (facial expression recognition) protocols and CNN (convolutional neural network) architectures, an electrooculography sensor to continuously measure loco-pilot eye movement parameters, enabling the AI module to detect drowsiness and generate an alert notification for the loco-pilot upon detection of fatigue, an inspection arrangement to monitor the loco-pilot's condition in real-time and enable the microcontroller to accordingly adjust the operational parameters, a water storage cartridge 109 with a misting nozzle 110, to spray water to immediately restore loco-pilot alertness upon detection of sleep and fatigue conditions."
