MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441032367 A) filed by Adient US Llc, Plymouth, U.S.A., on April 24, 2024, for 'lock structure of vehicle flip-up seat.'

Inventor(s) include Higuchi Takeshi; Matsuzaki Taisuke; Su Su Yin; Kimura Ryota; Zankar Rahul; Firke Nilesh; and Waghmare Nitin.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A lock structure (RK) includes an inner lower rail (82), an inner upper rail (5) with a body rail (5a) and a hook engaging member (1), and a lock (7) with a hook plate (73) and a lock plate (72). The lock (7) allows a vehicle flip-up seat (ST) to be lockable with the inner upper rail (5). The hook plate (73) includes a hook (732) configured to enter a space (V1) below a projection portion (12) of the hook engaging member (1) through a gap (82d) of top walls (82c) of the inner lower rail (82) by turning of the hook plate (73) in a first turning direction. The lock plate (72) is allowed to turn with the hook (732) reaching a position to enter the space (V1) and regulates turning of the hook plate (73) in a second turning direction opposite to the first turning direction."
