MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202414097926 A) filed by Jhen Tong Precision Co. Ltd., Taoyuan City, Taiwan, on Dec. 11, 2024, for 'live tool turret.'
Inventor(s) include Sheng-Liang Kuo; Chih-Ju Lin; Chia-Ying Kuo; and Yu-Chih Lin.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A live tool turret (100) includes a mechanical base (10), a tool disc base (20) engaged with the mechanical base (10), a tool disc (30) rotatably engaged with the tool disc base (20), and a drive mechanism (40). A plurality of cutting tools is disposed along a peripheral edge of the tool disc (30). The drive mechanism (40) includes a drive shaft (42), a first motor (44), and a transmission component. The drive shaft (42) extends into both the tool disc base (20) and the mechanical base (10). The first motor (44) is engaged with the tool disc base (20) and is located on a side of the mechanical base (10). The first motor (44) drives the rotation of the drive shaft (42) through the transmission component, wherein the drive shaft (42) drives one of the cutting tools on the tool disc (30) to operate."
