MUMBAI, India, March 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517079741 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Aug. 22, 2025, for 'lithium secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Ko, Jin Hyuck; Lee, Chul Haeng; Lee, Jung Min; and Ji, Su Hyeon.

The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery comprising: a cathode; an anode opposite to the cathode; a separator interposed between the cathode and the anode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein the cathode includes a cathode active material, the cathode active material includes lithium nickel-based oxide particles represented by chemical formula A, the lithium nickel-based oxide particles are in a single particle form composed of one single nodule or a quasi-single particle that is a composite of 30 nodules or less, the nonaqueous electrolyte includes a lithium salt, an organic solvent and an additive, and the additive includes a cyclic borate-based compound represented by a specific chemical formula, and a compound containing a propazyl group.
