MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075730 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on Aug. 8, for 'lithium secondary battery.'
Inventor(s) include Lee, Jung Min; Yeom, Chul Eun; Ji, Su Hyeon; and Lee, Chul Haeng.
The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery comprising: a cathode; an anode; a separator interposed between the cathode and the anode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein: the cathode includes a cathode active material; the cathode active material includes an overlithiated manganese-rich oxide comprising 50 mol% or higher of Mn from among all of the metals therein, which excludes lithium, and having a molar ratio of lithium to transition metals that exceeds 1; the nonaqueous electrolyte includes a lithium salt, an organic solvent and an additive; the organic solvent includes a first organic solvent and a second organic solvent; the first organic solvent includes ethylene carbonate; the second organic solvent includes diethyl carbonate; and the additive includes a cyclic sulfur oxide represented by a specific chemical formula."
