MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517071988 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 29, for 'lithium secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Lee, Jung Min; Yeom, Chul Eun; Ji, Su Hyeon; and Lee, Chul Haeng.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 10, under issue no. 41/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery comprising: a cathode; an anode; a separator arranged beween the cathode and the anode; and a non-aqueous electrolyte, wherein the cathode comprises a cathode active material, the cathode active material comprises 50 mol% or more of Mn among total metals except for lithium, and an overlithium manganese-rich oxide in which a molar ratio of lithium to transition metal is greater than 1, and the non-aqueous electrolyte comprises a lithium salt and an organic solvent, wherein the organic solvent comprises a first organic solvent and a second organic solvent, wherein the first organic solvent comprises ethylene carbonate, and the second organic solvent comprises diethyl carbonate and propyl propionate."

The patent application was internationally filed on Mar. 18, 2024, under International application No.PCT/KR2024/003365.
