MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517054905 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on June 6, for 'lithium secondary battery.'

Inventor(s) include Han, Jung Gu; Lee, Chul Haeng; Kim, Yo Jin; Lee, Jung Min; Ji, Su Hyeon; Yeom, Chul Eun; Sung, Ki Won; Jo, Young Seong; and Kim, Jeong Min.

The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a lithium secondary battery comprising: a cathode; an anode; a separator interposed between the cathode and the anode; and a nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein the cathode comprises 50 mol% or higher of Mn from among all metals, excluding lithium, and comprises an over-lithiated manganese-rich oxide in which the molar ratio of lithium to transition metals is greater than 1, the nonaqueous electrolyte comprises a lithium salt, an organic solvent and an additive, the additive comprises a first additive and a second additive, and the first additive and the second additive comprise compounds represented by respective specific chemical formulas."

The patent application was internationally filed on Nov. 30, 2023, under International application No.PCT/KR2023/019620.
