MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411010812 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Feb. 16, 2024, for 'liquid spillage prevention device for beverage container.'

Inventor(s) include Puneet Agarwal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A liquid spillage prevention device for beverage container comprises of an inflatable body 1 developed to be manually inserted by a user inside a mouth portion of a beverage container, a computing unit accessed by user to select type of beverage along with a manual or automatic mode of operation that user desires to perform for sealing mouth portion of container, a speaker 2 for notifying user regarding pressing of an inflation bulb 3 in a repetitive manner that results in extracting and passing of air within body 1 via a hollow tube 4 to aid in inflation of body 1, an air compressor for filling air within body 1 for inflating body 1 for sealing mouth portion, a pH sensor for detecting pH value of beverage and a Peltier unit 5 for maintaining evaluated temperature in order to prevent spoilage of beverage."
