MUMBAI, India, May 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631061326 A) filed by Ghosh, Sayandeep; and Ahmed, Sk Shahid Shahriyor, Pujali, West Bengal, on May 14, for 'liquid level monitoring and unauthorized liquid removal detection system for a liquid storage tank.'
Inventor(s) include Ghosh, Sayandeep; and Ahmed, Sk Shahid Shahriyor.
The application for the patent was published on May 29, under issue no. 22/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Provided are a liquid level monitoring and unauthorized liquid removal detection system (100) for a liquid storage tank (104). The system (100) comprises at least one floating telescopic shaft (102), a pair of guideway structures (106), a plurality of position sensors (204), and a processing unit (704). The telescopic shaft (102) is configured to float on a liquid surface and extend across a cross-section of the tank to represent a mean liquid surface level based on positional measurements obtained from opposite ends of the shaft. The processing unit (704) is configured to determine liquid level, compute expected liquid consumption based on distance travelled and mileage, and compare the same with actual liquid level variation. Further, the processing unit (704) is configured to detect abnormal liquid removal and refueling events and generate alerts via a communication module (706). The system enables accurate liquid level monitoring under dynamic and inclined conditions."
