MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311052178 A) filed by Birla Institute Of Technology & Science, Pilani, Rajasthan, on Feb. 3, 2024, for 'liquid injectable formulation of esomeprazole.'

Inventor(s) include Akash Chaurasiya; and Kanan Panchal.

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a stable, liquid, injectable, non-aqueous formulation of esomeprazole. The liquid injectable formulation comprising: esomeprazole; a solvent vehicle selected from polyethylene glycol, propylene glycol, glycerol, ethanol, polysorbate 80, polyethoxylated castor oil, and a combination thereof; an anti-oxidant; and a pH modifier. The invention is also a method of preparing the present formulation comprising: adding esomeprazole, anti-oxidant and pH modifier to the solvent vehicle and stirring constantly until the clear homogenous formulation solution is obtained."
