MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411005018 A) filed by Javelin Nutrabiotech Ltd., Preston, U.K., on Jan. 24, 2024, for 'lipid encapsulated compositions.'
Inventor(s) include Sreerag Gopi; and Sreeraj Gopi.
The application for the patent was published on July 25, under issue no. 30/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to compositions comprising lipid layers, such as liposomes, which encapsulate a network of fibres within an inner surface of the lipid layer. It also relates to compositions comprising lipid layers, such as liposomes, which encapsulate an aqueous core comprising a solution comprising fibres. The invention also relates to methods of manufacturing such compositions. The compositions of the invention have markedly improved stability, loading capacity and encapsulation efficiency as compared to lipid encapsulated compositions (such as dried liposomal compositions) of the prior art. Furthermore, advantageously, the fibres may have beneficial properties themselves, such as probiotic activity, which may complement the properties of other active agents provided within the formulation."
