MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411028521 A) filed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, on April 8, 2024, for 'linearly regulated power converter using hybrid technology of variable output inverter and step.'

Inventor(s) include Ravindra Mishra; and Nikhil Meshram.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The proposed Invention (Ref Fig-1) is linearly regulated power converter. This converter is specifically developed for aircraft. However this technology can be used in any domain to realised light weight and compact linearly regulated AC to DC converter. Modern Aircrafts are equipped with sensitive equipment and more than one DC electrical power sources are used to improve reliability of the power system. For achieving balance parallel operation of two or more power converter the output of all the converter should be constant in all input power and output load conditions. Hybrid technology of var.g!il,ti9~lJl'ter and step regulation is used to produce linearly regulat(R)- ~4:Qltfi!{?d power from a variable AC input voltage and variable frequency source. This system increase/decrease the input AC voltage in linear mode whenever DC voltage goes down/up automatically. System thus maintain the DC output voltage with required output voltage."
