According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A length adjustment and locking mechanism for a cable is disclosed. The mechanism comprises a cable having a threaded portion, a housing having a hollow cavity, a lock configured to engage the threaded portion of the cable, and a rotating cap configured to retain the lock within the housing. The hollow cavity of the housing extends along an axis substantially perpendicular to the axis of the cable. The lock is insertable into the housing along the perpendicular axis and engages the threaded portion of the cable for selectively fixing the cable position. The rotating cap threadably engages the housing and axially retains the lock within the housing while permitting intentional removal for cable adjustment and maintenance. The mechanism provides compact construction, simplified assembly, and convenient cable length adjustment."
