MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017939 A) filed by Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, on March 12, 2024, for 'leakage prevention device.'

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A leakage prevention device, comprises of an extendable circular frame 1 positioned on a ground surface around a manhole by multiple suction cups 2, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 to detect leakage from the manhole, plurality of collapsible plates 4 integrated with a water resistant flexible sheet to restrict leakage of the fluid, an ultrasonic sensor to detect presence of incoming person, a speaker 5 to notify the person regarding the manhole, a Light Dependent Resistor 6 to detect light condition into the surrounding, multiple Light emitting diodes 7 to illuminate the surrounding and an extendable robotic gripper 8 to pick-up trash floating over the fluid for preventing chances of blockage."
