MUMBAI, India, Aug. 29 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517075132 A) filed by Ppg Industries Ohio, Inc., Cleveland, U.S.A., on Aug. 7, for 'leafing additives for flake alignment in powder coatings and methods for making and applying the same.'

The application for the patent was published on Aug. 29, under issue no. 35/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Leafing additives for inducing flake alignment in powder coatings are provided. The additives may include an amphipathic material, an effect pigment, and polymeric resin particles. Substrates may be coated by contacting a least a portion of the substrate with the coating composition and curing the composition to form a coating layer. The coatings may impart a vibrant and sparkling appearance to the substrate."
