MUMBAI, India, July 25 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517066385 A) filed by Lg Electronics Inc., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on July 11, for 'laundry treating apparatus and drum manufacturing method.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a clothing treatment apparatus and a drum manufacturing method. According to an embodiment, provided is the clothing treatment apparatus that includes a drum comprising: a cylindrical part; a lifter part that has a long axis in the front-rear direction and protrudes toward the inside of the cylindrical part as the cylindrical part is bent; and a recess part that is formed in a lifter periphery constituting the periphery of the lifter part as the cylindrical part is bent. The recess part is formed in at least a portion of the region between a first position and a second position on the lifter periphery, wherein the first position and the second position are on opposite sides of the long axis of the lifter part."
