MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411090733 A) filed by Tnt Moto Designs, Gurgaon, Haryana, on Nov. 22, 2024, for 'lateral mount suspension system and method thereof.'

Inventor(s) include Nitin Sharma; and Naveen Nandal.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a two-wheeler suspension system (100) that allows for a lower seat height and improved ride comfort by designing a shock absorber that can be mounted laterally, in a plane perpendicular to the length of the vehicle. The system (100) includes a swingarm (104), a rocker arm (106), a push rod (102), and a shock absorber (108) mounted laterally relative to the longitudinal axis of the two-wheeler. The shock absorber (108) is operatively connected to the swingarm (104), while the rocker arm (106) and push rod (102) transfer motion from the swingarm (104) to the shock absorber (108). The system can feature either a double or single rocker arm configuration, which can be mounted in various positions relative to the swingarm (104). The shock absorber (108) may be mounted substantially perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and is adjustable for preload, compression damping, or rebound damping."
