MUMBAI, India, Aug. 22 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517072552 A) filed by Outokumpu Oyj, Helsinki, on July 30, for 'lateral energy absorbing system for electric drive vehicles.'
Inventor(s) include Frohlich, Thomas; and Lindner, Stefan.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 22, under issue no. 34/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an energy absorbing system (EAS) for electric drive vehicles which protects the storage unit of an alternative powertrain against a side impact into the longitudinal side of the vehicle by absorbing the energy also from the not-directly affected opposite side."
The patent application was internationally filed on Jan. 29, 2024, under International application No.PCT/EP2024/052067.
