MUMBAI, India, Oct. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411024150 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on March 26, 2024, for 'knob rotating assistive device.'

Inventor(s) include Anjali; Rohit Gupta; Kushdeep Rana; Sahil Sharma; and Parveen Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on Oct. 31, under issue no. 44/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A knob rotating assistive device comprises a circular platform 1 crafted with a T-shaped handle 2 that is gripped by a user to position the disc over a knob that is to be rotated, a microphone 3 installed over the platform to receive voice command of the user regarding rotation of the knob in a particular direction, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 4 installed over the platform determines dimensions of the knob, plurality of telescopic pins 5 installed beneath the platform that are actuated by the microcontroller to retract, a proximity sensor is installed over each of the pin to monitor distance between the pins and surface of the knob, and a suction cup 6 configured with each of the pin that upon extension and retraction of the pins for gripping the knob."
