MUMBAI, India, Sept. 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441012172 A) filed by Flo Mobility Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, Karnataka, on Feb. 21, 2024, for 'kits capable of being retrofitted on robots and methods for autonomous navigation.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is a kit that is capable of being retrofitted on robot, kit comprising: housing; sensor arrangement comprising sensors, communication arrangement comprising communication interface(s); and processing arrangement comprising first processor(s) communicably coupled with sensor arrangement and second processor of robot via communication interface(s). The sensors and the communication interface(s) are detachably attached to housing, to provide form factor flexibility to kit. First processor(s) is configured to: receive specification data related to configuration of robot; receive sensor data; process sensor data to determine state of robot with respect to frame of reference and to generate occupancy grid map; generate cost map of traversing environment; generate navigation plan for robot; generate control signal(s) for moving robot, based on navigation plan and specification data; and send control signal(s) to second processor of robot, when control signal(s) is executed by second processor, robot moves according to navigation plan for achieving navigation objective."
