MUMBAI, India, Aug. 8 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411006910 A) filed by Chandigarh Group Of Colleges, Mohali, Punjab, on Feb. 1, 2024, for 'keyboard key installation and removal device.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur; Parneet Kaur; Sunaina; Sanjay Kumar; and Dr. Saurabh Chaitanya.
The application for the patent was published on Aug. 8, under issue no. 32/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A keyboard key installation and removal device, comprising a cylindrical body 1 with a pair of L-shaped rods 2, each attached with a suction cup 3, a microphone 4 for enabling user to give voice commands, a camera 5 for capturing multiple images of keyboard, a laser projection unit 6 for detecting location of the user-defined key, a pair of plates 7 attached with a pair of curved-shaped members 9 for gripping the key, a telescopically operated pusher 10 for to provide an upward motion of the body 1, thereby removing the key, a speaker 11 for notifying user to place the key between the plates 7 and aligning the keyboard underneath the body 1, and motorized ball and socket joint 12 for tilting and vertically orienting the pusher 10 over the key to fix the key within the keyboard."
