MUMBAI, India, Oct. 11 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202517037266 A) filed by Lg Energy Solution, Ltd., Seoul, Republic of Korea, on April 17, for 'jig used for welding cylindrical battery cell, method for manufacturing cylindrical battery cell using same, cylindrical battery cell produced according to method, and battery pack and vehicle comprising cylindrical battery cell.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed are a jig used for welding a cylindrical battery cell, a method for manufacturing a cylindrical battery cell using same, a cylindrical battery cell produced according to the method, and a battery pack and a vehicle comprising the cylindrical battery cell. The jig used for welding a cylindrical battery cell according to an embodiment of the present invention is used when a current collector plate electrically connected to an electrode assembly of the cylindrical battery cell is welded to a battery can, and the jig comprises: a main body part that contacts the current collector plate and presses the current collector plate, and has a through hole formed for welding; and a position determining part that is coupled to at least one of either end portion of the main body part, contacts an end portion of the current collecting plate, and fixes the current collecting plate at an accurate position during welding."
