MUMBAI, India, July 5 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202311088266 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 22, 2023, for 'iout-enabled fish farming assistive device.'
Inventor(s) include Ishta Rani; Shabnam Choudhary; Vaneet Kumar; Rishi Pal; and Praveen Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 4, under issue no. 27/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An IoUT-enabled fish farming assistive device, comprises of an elongated body 1 developed to swim in waterbody embedded with multiple propellers 7 for moving the body 1, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 3 for detecting presence and movement of the fishes, a pair of fins 4 integrated on lateral sides of body 1 via hinge joints 5 for moving body 1 in direction of the fishes, a water quality monitoring sensing unit 6 for detecting dissolved oxygen level, water temperature, pH, TDS and ammonia level of water in the waterbody, a computing unit accessed by a user for monitoring the parameters prevailing in the waterbody in order for strategizing quality of waterbody, a surveillance module 2 for detecting feeding pattern and growth of the fishes and a FCR (feed conversion ratio is accordingly evaluated to optimize feeding amount of the fishes."
