MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541122153 A) filed by Vellore Institute Of Technology, Vellore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 4, 2025, for 'iot-powered child safety wearable with geofencing and anomaly detection.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present disclosure provides an IoT-powered child safety wearable device including a wearable housing configured to be worn by a child, a microcontroller disposed within the housing, a GPS module connected to the microcontroller configured to capture real-time location data, a GSM module connected to the microcontroller configured to transmit alerts, a geofencing system implemented by the microcontroller configured to define virtual boundaries around predetermined safe zones and detect when the child crosses boundaries, an alert system configured to activate when boundaries are crossed, an SOS button connected to the microcontroller configured to trigger emergency alerts when activated, a database system configured to store location data, and a machine learning module configured to analyze stored data to detect anomalous movement patterns and generate alerts when anomalies are detected."
