MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521110499 A) filed by Symbiosis International, Pune, Maharashtra, on Nov. 12, 2025, for 'iot-integrated edge ai system for sustainable coffee plantation management.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to a solar-powered, modular Internet of Things (IoT) integrated system (100) for intelligent management of coffee plantations, particularly suited for deployment in the rural regions of Karnataka. The system comprises a sensor array configured to measure soil nutrients, moisture, pH, temperature, humidity, and crop health; an edge artificial intelligence (AI) processing unit adapted for real-time detection of pests and diseases and for precision irrigation and fertigation control; a plurality of field-deployable actuators configured to execute irrigation, fertigation, and pesticide application based on AI-generated decisions; and a local multilingual user dashboard enabling farmer interaction, data visualization, and manual override of automated functions."
