MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511122288 A) filed by K. R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, Haryana, on Dec. 5, 2025, for 'iot-enabled uv sterilization system for automated disinfection of home dialysis equipment.'

Inventor(s) include Dr Rajni Gautam; Dr. Sucheta; Dr. Saroj Yadav; and Dr Rupali.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an IoT-integrated sterilization box that allows for the safe and efficient disinfection of home dialysis tubing and connectors utilizing dual-mode UV-C and plasma ion technology. This device consists of reflective sterilization chambers, tailored disinfecting cycles, automated safety interlock systems, and dose-regulating sensors to avoid polymer breakdown. Microcontrollers manage the dual UV-C and plasma ion activation, whereas the IoT module transfers to the user smartphone application data on closed cycles, contains alerts, and issues compliance documents. The system allows home dialysis users to perform chemical-free validations of successful sterilization disinfection and offers remote monitoring to manage infection control."
