MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531129515 A) filed by Asansol Engineering College, Asansol, West Bengal, on Dec. 20, 2025, for 'iot-enabled intelligent classroom safety and student position monitoring system for automated teacher alerting and accident prevention.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses an IoT-integrated smart classroom monitoring system designed for ensuring safety of young students aged 4 to 10 years. Using camera-based image processing, the system identifies students who leave their designated positions for more than a predefined time interval. When no teacher is present in the classroom, the system sends instant alerts to the corresponding teacher or authority, enabling timely intervention. The system operates in two modes: supervised class mode and unsupervised safety mode. This invention enhances classroom safety, prevents accidents among young children, and provides automated real-time monitoring in educational environments."
