MUMBAI, India, April 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641021029 A) filed by M/s. Rmk College Of Engineering And Technology, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Feb. 23, for 'iot-connected wearables with cloud-based analytics for continuous hydration monitoring.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. K. Balachander; and Dr. R. Aiyshwariya Devi.

The application for the patent was published on April 17, under issue no. 16/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Proper hydration is essential for athletic performance, cognitive function, and general health. However, traditional techniques of measuring fluid intake, such as self-reporting or periodic measurements, are often erroneous and give little real-time feedback. This work describes an loT-enabled wearable solution with cloud-based analytics for continuous hydration monitoring. Non-invasive sensors in the wearable device assess physiological signs such sweat composition, skin impedance, and body temperature. Collected data is sent in real time to a cloud platform and analysed to offer instant hydration status, personalised alarms, and suggestions. This technology enables users to maintain appropriate hydration proactively, lowering the dangers of dehydration for athletes, healthcare patients, and the general community. By combining wearable sensors, loT connection, and cloud analytics, the technique provides an accurate, scalable, and user-friendly solution for continuous hydration tracking. The suggested framework highlights the potential for smart wearables to improve personal health management and preventative treatment., more efficie."
