MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511116535 A) filed by IIMT College of Engineering, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Nov. 24, 2025, for 'iot-based home automation system and method thereof.'

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A system (100) for home automation includes a plurality of relays (102) configured to control electrical appliances and a processor (106) to receive control commands from a computing device (140) through a cloud platform, actuate the relays (102) to switch the appliances on or off based on the received commands, acquire sensor data from at least one integrated sensor (104) selected from motion sensors, temperature sensors, or light sensors, perform automated control of the appliances based on the acquired sensor data, transmit appliance status and sensor data to the computing device (140) in real time, and enable user interaction through a mobile application or web interface. The processor (106) further supports voice-command-based control, analysis of historical sensor and appliance usage for energy optimization, real-time alerts for abnormal operation, automated environmental parameter control, and system scalability."
