According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an Internet of Things based automated greenhouse humidity control mechanism specifically designed for optimizing the cultivation environment of Withania somnifera, a valuable medicinal plant. The system employs a network of environmental sensors including humidity, temperature, soil moisture, and light intensity sensors integrated with microcontroller units that continuously monitor greenhouse conditions. Real time data is transmitted through wireless communication protocols to a cloud based platform enabling remote monitoring and automated control of humidification and dehumidification systems. The invention addresses the critical humidity requirements of Withania somnifera during different growth stages through programmable logic controllers that activate misting systems, exhaust fans, and ventilation mechanisms based on predetermined threshold values optimized for medicinal compound production. This automated approach eliminates manual intervention reduces labor costs and ensures consistent environmental conditions thereby maximizing withanolide content in roots and leaves while preventing fungal diseases associated with improper humidity management in greenhouse cultivation of medicinal plants."
