MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017506 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 11, 2024, for 'iot-based garment storage device.'

Inventor(s) include Shivam Pandey; and Shivani Aggarwal.

The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An IOT-based garment storage device, comprises of a body 1 developed to be positioned on a ground surface, a lid 2 integrated with a handle 3 for opening the body 1 to accommodate multiple garments, plurality of hooks 4 for engaging the garments, multiple capacitance sensors 5 for detecting fabric of garments, an artificial intelligence-based imaging unit 6 for detecting presence and location of wrinkles on the garments, plurality of electronically controlled nozzles 7 integrated inside the body 1 each by means of a motorized ball and socket joint 8 to rotate for orienting the nozzles 7, a water reservoir 13 arranged on the body 1 and stored with water, and a UV (ultraviolet) lamp 9 to eliminate germs deposited on the garments, and an exhaust fan 14 coupled with a vent 15 to develop air circulation to prevent any damage to garments."
