MUMBAI, India, Sept. 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411017495 A) filed by Chandigarh University; and Chandigarh University Technology Business Incubator, Mohali, Punjab, on March 11, 2024, for 'iot-based environment monitoring system.'
Inventor(s) include Nitin Tomar.
The application for the patent was published on Sept. 26, under issue no. 39/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An IOT-based environment monitoring system, comprises of plurality of drones 1 wirelessly linked with a computing unit 2 accessed by a concerned authority for providing input regarding a number of locations where environment monitoring is to be performed, a GPS module for fetching real-time location of drones 1, a processing unit for allocating different locations to drones 1, an imaging unit 3 for detecting any obstacle on the fetched route, an inbuilt microprocessor for implementing deviation of drones 1 from fetched route, a spectrometer 4 for detecting light pattern in surrounding to determine vegetation condition at the location, a sensing module 5 for monitoring pollutants in the surrounding, multiple piezoelectric sensors 6 for monitoring parameters like animals tracking, structural vibrations etc. and a magnetic induction coupling mechanism for transferring energy to nearby drone in order to perform monitoring of environment."
