MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133271 A) filed by Ifet College Of Engineering, Viluppuram, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'intravenous fluid bag monitoring and alert system with weight sensing and remote notifications.'

Inventor(s) include Mrs. G. Anbarasi; V. Ashwathi; and G. Jayashree.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An intravenous fluid bag monitoring and alert system is disclosed. The system comprises a load cell sensor [102] configured to sense weight of an intravenous fluid bag [118] supported on a stand [116] and to generate a corresponding signal, an amplifier and signal conversion module [104] configured to amplify the signal and provide a digital value, and a microcontroller unit [106] configured to compute a present fluid level from the digital value and to determine whether the present fluid level is below a predetermined threshold. A display unit [108] is configured to present the present fluid level in real time. An audible alert unit [110] is configured to generate an alert when the threshold is reached. A remote monitoring arrangement comprising a cloud-based platform [112] and a mobile device [114] enables transmission of intravenous fluid bag data for remote notifications, thereby reducing manual supervision and supporting timely intervention."
