MUMBAI, India, March 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611007388 A) filed by Motorama Ev Private Limited, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, on Jan. 25, for 'internally cooled electric machine with tapered internal airflow guidance.'
Inventor(s) include Abhishek Gupta.
The application for the patent was published on March 13, under issue no. 11/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Disclosed is an internally cooled electric machine, comprising a housing body defining an internal chamber, a field assembly immovably positioned within the internal chamber and defining a through-opening, the field assembly comprising conductive coil windings arranged circumferentially about the through-opening, a drive shaft rotatably disposed within the housing body and extending through the through-opening of the field assembly, an air-impelling structure provided on the drive shaft within the internal chamber and configured to induce air movement upon rotation of the drive shaft, and a tapering flow shroud formed on the drive shaft, positioned radially outward of the air-impelling structure, and having an outer circumferential profile aligned with an inner circumference of the field assembly, wherein the tapering flow shroud defines a progressively narrowing flow passage between the tapering flow shroud and the field assembly such that air movement induced by the air-impelling structure is guided toward the field assembly to facilitate thermal dissipation from the conductive coil windings during operation of the internally cooled electric machine."
