MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541130062 A) filed by Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 22, 2025, for 'interactive platform for disaster response training in schools.'
Inventor(s) include Selvanayaki S; Michael Mahesh K; Shanmathi S; Ragul R; and Kamalesh V.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "In recent years, the increasing frequency of natural and human-made disasters has emphasized the need for effective disaster preparedness education within school environments. Traditional disaster training methods rely heavily on manual drills and theoretical instruction, which often fail to provide practical understanding or long-term retention. Existing systems lack interactivity, personalization, and continuous evaluation, limiting their effectiveness in preparing students and staff for real emergency situations. The present invention proposes an interactive digital platform for disaster response training in schools that integrates scenario-based simulations, multimedia learning, and location-aware content delivery. The system dynamically generates training modules based on regional disaster risks and educational levels, ensuring relevance and effectiveness. Interactive simulations and assessments enable learners to practice decision-making and emergency response in a controlled environment. By employing a scalable and modular architecture, the platform supports real-time monitoring, performance evaluation, and continuous improvement of training programs. The system transforms disaster education into an engaging, measurable, and adaptive learning experience, enhancing preparedness, reducing panic during emergencies, and promoting a culture of safety within educational institutions."
