Inventor(s) include Dr. Rahul Patil; Mahesh Dargad; Tanmay Jagtap; Naveen Kakumanu; and Amit Dekate.
The application for the patent was published on July 11, under issue no. 28/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "A traffic flow optimization system (100) comprising: a plurality of cameras (102a-102n) configured to capture a video stream of a traffic environment; a processor (104) coupled to the plurality of cameras (102a-102n), and configured to: determine traffic density of the traffic environment; detect a type of vehicle from the traffic environment, wherein the processor (104) is configured to employ YOLO technique to detect the type of the vehicle; determine signal timing based on the traffic density and the type of the vehicle; and dynamically adjust traffic lights based on the signal timing such that the dynamic adjustment of the traffic lights facilitates release of traffic from the traffic environment."
