MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541124216 A) filed by B V Raju Institute Of Technology, Narsapur, Telangana, on Dec. 9, 2025, for 'intelligent structural engineering system using machine learning and computer vision.'

Inventor(s) include Thota Vamsi; Samanasa Krishna Rao; Ambati Supraja; Thalakanti Rajesh Reddy; Palakapati Chandhu Sri Varma; Avula Gopala Krishna; Kallurkar Naveen Kumar; Manthuri Ramesh Goud; Talla Rishitej; and Pabboji Sai Venkat Chary.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses an intelligent structural engineering system that integrates machine learning, computer vision, and structural mechanics to automate the assessment and prediction of structural performance. The system processes multisource data, including images, sensor readings, material properties, and historical records, to detect and quantify defects such as cracks, corrosion, and deformation. Deep learning models classify damage severity, while predictive algorithms estimate load-carrying capacity, stiffness reduction, deterioration trends, and remaining service life. A decision-support module applies AI-driven optimization techniques to recommend retrofitting strategies and design improvements. The invention enables continuous, real-time structural monitoring without requiring full-scale finite element modeling for every scenario. The system is adaptable to diverse structures and functions effectively even with limited drawings or partial sensor coverage, providing a scalable and automated solution for structural safety evaluation and lifecycle management."
