MUMBAI, India, Jan. 9 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133897 A) filed by Meenakshi Academy Of Higher Education and Research; and Meenakshi Ammal Dental College And Hospital, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'intelligent posture monitoring clip with bluetooth connectivity and data-driven feedback.'

Inventor(s) include Dr. Sooriaprakas Chandrasekaran; Dr. R. Parthasarathy; and Dr. Koushik Kumar N.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 9, under issue no. 02/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention relates to an intelligent wearable posture-monitoring clip fabricated for real-time detection and correction of spinal misalignment. The device comprises a compact clip housing attachable to clothing, containing an accelerometer and gyroscope configured to detect angular deviation of the user's posture relative to a calibrated reference. A microcontroller with embedded posture-analysis algorithms processes sensor data and activates a vibration motor to provide immediate haptic feedback when improper posture is detected. The device further includes a Bluetooth communication unit with an integrated antenna for seamless wireless transmission of posture data to a paired mobile application. A rechargeable lithium-ion polymer battery powers the sensors, control circuitry, vibration module, and communication components. The associated mobile application records posture deviations, provides analytical insights, and supports long-term habit improvement. The invention offers a compact, ergonomic, and data-driven solution for continuous posture monitoring across daily, occupational, and rehabilitative settings."
