MUMBAI, India, Jan. 23 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511126805 A) filed by Chandigarh University, Mohali, Punjab, on Dec. 15, 2025, for 'intelligent multi sensor fusion system for posture recognition and ergonomic monitoring.'
Inventor(s) include Arya Saini.
The application for the patent was published on Jan. 23, under issue no. 04/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention introduces an intelligent ergonomic monitoring system integrating a wearable IMU sensor and a desk-mounted ultrasonic sensor to simultaneously detect spinal posture and user-to-screen distance. A microcontroller processes fused sensor data using filtering algorithms and compares results with personalized thresholds obtained through self-calibration. Sustained deviations trigger real-time feedback via vibration, buzzer, or LED indicators. The system further incorporates Wi-Fi connectivity to upload posture logs, violation history, and ergonomic analytics to a cloud or mobile application. It ensures complete privacy, operates in all lighting conditions, and delivers high accuracy through multi-sensor fusion. The device is portable, low-cost, and suitable for home, office, or educational environments."
