MUMBAI, India, Feb. 13 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541125155 A) filed by Stanley College Of Engineering & Technology For Women, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Dec. 11, 2025, for 'intelligent home appliance controller for reducing electricity consumption.'
Inventor(s) include Dr. K Rajesh; V Bhargavi Boyinasetty; Dr. M. Vidya Bhargavi; Dr. G. Shirisha; and Dr. Vyomakesisri T.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 13, under issue no. 07/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The present invention provides an Intelligent Home Appliance Controller designed to reduce residential electricity consumption through real-time monitoring, adaptive decision-making, and autonomous appliance control. The system integrates multiple environmental and electrical sensors to capture contextual data such as temperature, occupancy, ambient light, voltage, and current. This data is continuously analysed by an embedded processing unit to determine optimal operating conditions for connected appliances, enabling automatic adjustments that minimize energy wastage. The invention employs machine-learning algorithms that learn user behaviour patterns, usage cycles, and environmental trends. Using this predictive intelligence, the controller dynamically regulates appliance operationsincluding switching, scheduling, and load modulation-to achieve maximum energy efficiency. The system further incorporates dynamic tariff information to shift non-essential tasks to low-cost time periods and provides personalized energy-saving actions without requiring manual intervention from the user. The controller supports multi-protocol communication, cloud connectivity, and offline edge processing to ensure seamless operation in varied network conditions. A mobile application offers real-time energy analytics, appliancewise consumption breakdowns, and remote-control capabilities. Designed to be modular, low-cost, and compatible with existing appliances, the invention significantly reduces electricity consumption while enhancing user convenience, thereby supporting sustainable and intelligent household energy management."
