MUMBAI, India, Nov. 21 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541077738 A) filed by Vanguri Jashwanth, Hyderabad, Telangana, on Aug. 14, for 'intelligent garbage bin with fill-level monitoring and secure access.'
Inventor(s) include Vanguri Jashwanth.
The application for the patent was published on Nov. 21, under issue no. 47/2025.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "Intelligent Garbage Bin with Fill-Level Monitoring and Secure Access A smart waste bin system (100) is disclosed, comprising an embedded microcontroller (103), ultrasonic fill-level sensors (101a, 101b), a solenoid locking mechanism (102), an RFID-based access control module, and a GSM communication unit (105). When the bin reaches a predefined capacity, the lid is automatically locked to prevent overfilling and unauthorized dumping. Authorized personnel can unlock the bin using an RFID tag, with each interaction logged for accountability. The system transmits real-time alerts containing bin ID and location to designated waste management contacts via SMS, with automated call escalation if unacknowledged. Optional features include solar-powered operation and remote monitoring via a mobile application. The invention enhances efficiency, accountability, and hygiene in waste management operations, particularly in urban and public environments."
