Inventor(s) include P. Loganathan; K. Kodeeswari; Rajwardhan Arya; Dr. Avvaru Subramanyam; Shailaja Udtewar; Meena Sujitkumar Ugale; Smita Y Pawar; Jyotsna More; Dr. Kulkarni Sanjivani Balbhimrao; and Ms. M. Ramya.

The application for the patent was published on Feb. 6, under issue no. 06/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention relates to an intelligent environmental monitoring system that integrates edge computing with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies to acquire, process, and analyze environmental data in real time. The system consists of distributed sensor nodes deployed across a target field, each equipped with microcontrollers, multi-parameter environmental sensors, and edge-processing capability to filter, aggregate, and preprocess data at the source. An IoT communication layer transfers optimized data packets to a cloud-based analytics platform for long-term storage, visualization, and predictive analysis. The invention incorporates machine learning algorithms at both the edge and cloud layers to detect abnormal environmental changes, identify trends, and generate early warnings for critical conditions such as temperature rise, humidity variation, air quality degradation, or hazardous gas formation. The framework supports adaptive sampling, energy-efficient communication, secure data transmission, and modular scalability for agricultural, industrial, and urban monitoring applications. The system provides an end-to-end intelligent solution for environmental assessment, anomaly detection, and future condition prediction, thereby enabling timely decision-making and improved resource management."
