The device operates at the network edge and continuously collects data related to communication patterns, packet flow characteristics, and system interactions among network nodes. A behavioral analysis engine establishes baseline activity models for normal network behavior. Machine learning-based anomaly detection algorithms are employed to identify deviations from these baseline patterns. When suspicious behavior indicative of malware activity is detected, a threat assessment mechanism evaluates the severity of the anomaly and assigns a risk score. If the risk level exceeds a predetermined threshold, the system automatically initiates containment procedures. The containment mechanism isolates the compromised device by restricting network communication, blocking IP addresses, or modifying firewall rules. This prevents malware from spreading to other devices within the network. The invention significantly reduces detection latency by performing analysis locally at the network edge. The system provides automated alerts, security logs, and threat reports to assist network administrators in monitoring and managing network security.
