MUMBAI, India, Jan. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541125519 A) filed by Vel Tech Multi Tech Dr. Rangarajan Dr. Sakunthala Engineering College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 12, 2025, for 'intelligent cybersecurity framework for iot networks using ml-based threat detection and adaptive defense.'

Inventor(s) include Mrs. M. K. Geedtha; Mrs. Vaitheeshwari S; and Mrs. D. Parkavi.

The application for the patent was published on Jan. 2, under issue no. 01/2026.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "An adaptive meta-learning based intrusion detection and defense framework (AMID-IoT) for IoT networks is disclosed. The framework uses a base Intrusion Detection System (IDS) model trained via Model-Agnostic Meta-Learning (MAML) over diverse attack and network traffic datasets. On deployment in a target IoT environment, the base model is fine-tuned using few-shot environment-specific data, producing a task-specific IDS that can detect intrusion or anomalous behavior with high accuracy. The system supports resource-constrained IoT devices via edge/gateway deployment, enables real-time monitoring and classification, and triggers adaptive defense actions when threats are detected. A continuous learning module allows periodic updating of the model as new data and attack patterns emerge, ensuring the system remains effective over time."
