MUMBAI, India, Feb. 27 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133498 A) filed by Dr. Mahalingam College Of Engineering And Technology, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on Dec. 30, 2025, for 'intelligent crop monitoring system based on iot technologies.'
Inventor(s) include S. Nandhini.
The application for the patent was published on Feb. 27, under issue no. 09/2026.
According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "As agricultural production is severely impacted by climate changes, resource limitation, and the need to move toward more sustainable strategies, the significance of using precision farming technology continues to grow rapidly. The development outlined in this document includes the implementation of an Internet-based infrastructure utilizing sensor technologies to provide real-time monitoring of growing conditions, thereby allowing for an up-to-date agricultural condition analysis by farmers. This will allow growers to employ artificial intelligence (Al) in several distinct components of the system for predictive analysis purposes. The concept put forth in this proposal offers farmers a set of tools that will be easy to use, effective, and scalable for both small-sized and large-sized farms to mitigate the limitations associated with currently available technologies. Through this approach, the intention of this proposal is to create a paradigm shift in agriculture through the accessibility and affordability of precision farming technology based on innovation and advanced design. This abstract summarises the overall concept of the project as well as the general structure for the presentation of the project's components."
