MUMBAI, India, Nov. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202531106612 A) filed by Professor Konika Das Bhattacharya; Dr. Dipanjan Bose; Sri Abhijit Das; Dr. Joydip Jana; Professor Chandan Kumar Chanda; and Professor Samarjit Sengupta, Kolkata, West Bengal, on Nov. 3, for 'intelligent and sustainable sanitation system.'

Inventor(s) include Professor Konika Das Bhattacharya; Dr. Dipanjan Bose; Sri Abhijit Das; Dr. Joydip Jana; Professor Chandan Kumar Chanda; and Professor Samarjit Sengupta.

The application for the patent was published on Nov. 28, under issue no. 48/2025.

According to the abstract released by the Intellectual Property India: "The invention discloses a solar-powered smart pumping and sanitation system that integrates renewable energy harvesting, intelligent control, and autonomous operation. A solar photovoltaic array (1) generates DC power that is conditioned by a charger (3), isolated by a diode (5), and stored in a battery (6). A voltage regulator (7) provides regulated supply to a control card (8) that forms the central logic and communication hub. The control card receives inputs from a float sensor (11), current sensor (4), PIR sensor (16), and door sensor (17), and accordingly governs a variable frequency drive (9) for operating a solar pump (10), as well as relays (13) that control auxiliary devices including micro solar domes (14) and exhaust fans (15). A communication module (12) enables remote monitoring, while local LED indicators display system status. The system ensures efficient water pumping, automated lighting and ventilation, user safety, and IoT-based monitoring in off-grid environments."
